The Story
The Paris Pepper Mill is Peugeotâs most recognisable design. The simple and classic form combines the companyâs centuries-old grinding mechanism with their innovative u'Select control system that allows up to six different textures. ---DETAILS--- The French company Peugeot may be most commonly associated with cars, but they actually made spice mills first, far back in 1874. In the 146 years since, no other salt and pepper mills stay as sharp, resist corrosion as well, and last as long, which is why nobody in the culinary industry would hesitate to call them âiconicâ. The grinding mechanism in the Paris Pepper Mill is made from hardened steel so it can withstand the stress of grinding tougher peppercorns without shedding some of its own metal along with it. It is helix-shaped, so peppercorns wait their turn before being cracked in half and further ground to your preference with the six uâSelect grind settings. There can be found on the bottom of the mill with the roman numeralsâI is finest, and VI is most coarse. Just set your preference, turn the top dome, and experience the wonderful aromatics of freshly ground pepper. The body is made from European beechwood with a natural finish. Traditionally, darker coloured pepper mills are paired with lighter or white salt mills. ---BENEFITS--- âAny fine dining restaurant worth its salt (excuse the pun) has a Peugeot mill. Expertly crafted inside and out, these grinders seem to âwake upâ pepper and salt just before it reaches your plate.â
